Shires Press / SVC Student Author Readings

  • Northshire Bookstore 4869 Main Street Manchester Center, VT, 05255 United States (map)

Three student authors from Southern Vermont College will be here to discuss their debut novels published by the award-winning Shires Press Publishing Program.

This project received both the Audience Choice Award and the Second place award from the New England Publishing Collaboration (NEPCo) in 2018.  Founded in 2014 and created by Associate Professor and Chair of the Hunter Division of the Humanities Dr. Daisy Levy and Northshire Bookstore Publishing Coordinator Debbi Wraga, the Shires Press Publishing Series consists of four classes at SVC that offer students the opportunity to study the foundations of book publishing while working on their own manuscript from conception to completion.  At the conclusion of the program, students are able to publish their books through the Shires Press at Northshire and have the opportunity to promote and sell their new books in the retail and online marketplace.

Having already published nine books in this program, please join us to celebrate the publication of three new books:  Jordan Simon's Project Eve, Alena Hunt's Pieces of our Now, and Takiyah Douglas' Twisties.
