Write to Recover: Writing Workshop & Educator Training is the first program of its kind, hosted by the Adirondack Center for Writing in partnership with the Vermont-based group Writers for Recovery. Every person is healing from something. In this program we'll use creative writing as a powerful tool in coping with and healing from emotional traumas. Everyone is welcome to join the writing workshop, which is free of charge. Those who work specifically with clients and/or students recovering from trauma are invited to attend the educator training session in the afternoon. Join us on November 3rd at ROOST Saranac Lake, 193 River Street in Saranac Lake.

Write to Recover: Writing Workshop, 10am-1pm
Join us for a journaling and writing workshop open in a safe space, free to all. No questions asked, the doors are open for you and what you need to say. There will be opportunity to share your writing and experiences and listen to others. To sign up ahead of time, send an email to Drop-ins are also welcome.

Write to Recover: Educator Training, 2pm-5pm
Do you work with people in recovery? Are you using writing as a tool for your students or clients? Open to all educators and staff working with people recovering from traumas including, but not limited to, PTSD, alcohol and substance addiction, sexual assault and domestic violence survivors. Learn from the experienced workshop leaders of Writers for Recovery about how to to incorporate a writing component into curriculum, develop your writing prompts and workshops, and next steps in engaging writers and opportunities for collecting experiences in writing. Participants are encouraged to attend the morning workshop as well. $50. Sign up ahead of time via email to
