[For ages 18+] Fixed Forms in Poetry 2.0

Fixed forms are poems that are written in a prescribed fashion. For example, a sonnet has 14 lines, 10 syllables/ line, with a particular rhyme scheme. Haiku is another fixed form. There are stanzaic poems, triolets, villanelles, limericks, pantoums, etc. They are often fun to write because you're "handcuffed," forcing you to deal with the constraints in a creative fashion. We'll study successful examples and write our own. For beginners and experienced writers.

Registration is encouraged for this series, but not required.  Register by clicking the button below, or call the branch at 518-463-0254.
